Some places never go out of style. Hydra is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elegant, effortlessly cinematic and long associated with artists, creatives and travellers in search of something a little different, the island has always moved to its own rhythm. No cars, no traffic, no need to rush. In Autumn, that rhythm becomes even more inviting. The summer crowds begin to fade, the light turns golden, and the harbour, cobbled lanes and stone-built houses set the scene for a day spent wandering without a plan. Stop for a coffee, linger over lunch by the sea or, if the weather is on your side, take a swim before heading back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE GOLDEN SUN. SAY HELLO TO APOLLO<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hydra\u2019s creative spirit is as much a part of its identity as its waterfront and stone mansions. One of its most striking landmarks is Apollo Wind Spinner, Jeff Koons\u2019 monumental golden sculpture, inspired by Apollo and installed overlooking the harbour. Catching the light and moving with the wind, it offers a contemporary contrast to the island\u2019s timeless setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMEMBER BOY ON A DOLPHIN?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Long before Hydra became a favourite among today’s travellers, the island was already making its mark on the international stage. The 1957 film Boy on a Dolphin, starring Sophia Loren, was filmed partly on Hydra, bringing the island\u2019s distinctive beauty to audiences around the world and adding a memorable chapter to its cinematic history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
