Bouboulina Museum

At the Bouboulina Museum, visitors can discover the story of the legendary female captain and admire collections of weapons, old books, porcelain, personal letters, and other artifacts. A highlight is the magnificent Florentine carved ceiling of the great hall. For international visitors, her story is available in print in 25 languages, and private tours of the mansion can also be arranged.

Dapia Square

An imposing and iconic square, Dapia is a reference point for both locals and visitors. It once served as the island’s gunnery, as evidenced by the cannons dating back to the Revolution of 1821. Today, it is the first place visitors see upon arriving at the port of Spetses. It’s the perfect starting point for a walk through the island’s picturesque streets toward the interior and the southern beaches, with shops and cafés all around.

Chapel of Panagia Armata

Located in a prominent position in the Old Port area, the chapel of Panagia Armata was built between 1826 and 1830 to honor the Virgin Mary. It is celebrated every year on September 8, the day of her birth, and is also dedicated to the anniversary of the naval battle of Spetses, when the island’s ships successfully repelled the Ottoman fleet.
